Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Property Mate browser extension, the website at propertymateextension.com, and any related services (together, the "Service"). By installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Property Mate is a browser extension that surfaces publicly available property information on realestate.com.au, including price guides, suburb data, and AI-generated property summaries. Property Mate is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by REA Group, realestate.com.au, Domain, Google, or any real estate agency.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
• Some features require signing in with Google authentication.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
• You must provide accurate information and notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where permitted by law.
• Use the Service to scrape, harvest, or redistribute data at scale, or to build a competing product.
• Circumvent usage limits, authentication, billing, or any other technical restriction.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any third-party website's terms of use.
• Interfere with, overload, or disrupt our servers or networks.
• Resell, sublicense, or share access to paid features with others.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Free tier

The free tier provides unlimited price guide reveals and a limited daily allowance of AI analysis and image editing requests. Daily limits reset every 24 hours.

Pro subscription

• Property Mate Pro is billed at AUD $9.99 per month unless otherwise stated at checkout.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
• You may cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain Pro access until then.
• We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes apply from your next billing period.

Refunds

Except where required by the Australian Consumer Law, subscription fees are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at propertymateextension@gmail.com and we will review your case.

5. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses third-party AI models to generate property summaries, reports, and edited images. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You are responsible for independently verifying any information before relying on it.

6. No Financial, Legal, or Property Advice

Price guides, estimates, suburb medians, and AI reports are provided for general information only. They are not a valuation, appraisal, or financial, legal, or investment advice. Property Mate does not guarantee the accuracy of any price estimate. Always seek independent professional advice and conduct your own due diligence before making a property decision.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service depends on third parties including Google, Supabase, Stripe, and property data sources. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of those services. Your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its code, design, branding, and content, is owned by Property Mate and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

9. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Where a change materially reduces paid functionality, we will provide reasonable notice.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if your use poses a risk to the Service or other users. On termination, your licence ends immediately, and any unused portion of a paid period is forfeited except where the law requires otherwise.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Property Mate will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary loss, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or opportunity, arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of AUD $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

13. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Where our liability cannot be excluded but may be limited, our liability is limited to resupplying the Service or paying the cost of resupply.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Property Mate against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

15. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice through the extension or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
